Everyone must have reached a few people in their life whether that's selling something or else.
Do you prefer to do that via email or LinkedIn?
Or even Twitter/X or any other channel?

I've been getting some good results using cold email (using Lemlist) to reach out to UX Researchers.
I thought about trying out LinkedIn InMail again since then because I'm building an audience on this platform, but I haven't done so yet. Do you have any tips on how to do effective cold outreach on LinkedIn ?

@ed_forson InMail is classed as spam on LinkedIn, so I would only do connection requests. Lemlist is a great tool, though we've built something more powerful than Lemlist - salesforge.ai
Naturally, depends on the goal and context. For work, I usually prefer email first if I have it and would then follow up on LinkedIn if needed.
I think LinkedIn is the best way to reach out to someone in the first place because the recipient gets to know who's behind the message. It can even help him/her/them navigate towards the consideration phase. If I don't get an answer after a few initial LinkedIn messages (2 or 3), then I switch to email.

@steve_lourdessamy sometimes it's hard to reach the person in or the other channel, which is why a multi-channel approach works significantly better.
Personally, It worked better for me

@anna_panchenko what worked better for you?
Linkedin 90% of cases - feels more human, although I noticed there's a group of individuals who aren't actively using it.

Yes, it's a much more friendly way of approaching!

@sabrihakuli what's your preference though?
Its funny because I was thinking about this too
Let me tell you my thoughts:
The market is sophisticated and people more or less use the same message templates hence the people at the receiving end are tired of all the copy-paste templates
Hence I like to do 'omnipresence outreach' where I reach out to them NOT just on 1 platform but multiple platforms - Linkedin, X, Email and Instagram if possible
This way the person sees my message on all platforms make him think I'm legit and really want to get ahold of him!
Via Email works better if you are sending personalised email and Linkedin best to break the ice and start discussion. P.S : Never sell your product upfront
It really depends on your target audience. Some people are more responsive to LinkedIn messages, while others prefer email. It's important to test both approaches and adapt to what works best for your specific situation.

@mahnoor_ahmed or just simply do both channels at the same time.
Mostly cold outreach

I prefer LinkedIn for B2B marketing strategies whereas email for B2C marketing strategies.

From my own experience, I've found that emails can be more effective if you put in the effort to create personalized content. It tends to grab people's attention and make them more likely to respond. So, if you can tailor your emails to each individual, you'll have a better chance of getting a reply.

Depending on the reason, I will typically reach out via email first. Once back & forth communication has started, I will follow up with a LinkedIn request!

@olenabomko can't do everything really well. Need to specialize in things :)
Generally I try to connect with the person on LinkedIn, without a message. I’ll try use targeted posts that provide value to that audience that I’m connecting with and try to have the conversation naturally. Follow-up with emails once the conversation starts, but sales generally aren’t created with “one touch” on either.
Cold Email and messages are perfect, That's why professional social media exists. I prefer indirect interactive messages.

@sumit_sharma29 interactive messages? 🤨 As in GIFs, videos? 😅

Cold outreach (i've found) lands better on LinkedIn but its harder to achieve at scale.

LinkedIn feel better, as the person can see my background and not think I'm completely spamming him
