Do you send cold emails? And if yes, are you successful with them?

I'm currently trying to send out cold emails again (via Lemlist).
Conversion is hard because frankly it is a numbers game, even with super personalised messages.

Question back at you, if you do send cold emails, what precautions are you taking to prevent them from marking you as spam and blacklisting your domain?
I’m curious as I plan to buy an email list :/
Rates of delivery, open, clickthrough are all good, but it's hard to convert cold email-based leads to paid clients. Trying to fill in the gap.

Yes, do you know Lemnist, as I heard it is a beneficial tool? Anyone who uses it?
@parilti_erkan I tried it, but after decided to move to Apollo

@julia_demyanchuk oh thanks I did not try, is it easier?
I'm planning to send cold emails in a month or so. Currently, studying about strategies for crafting, personalizing messages, and tools to make a successful campaign.
I'd love to hear any tips for a newbie.
P.S: The comments here are awesome 👌
@busmark_w_nika investing time to craft a good copy is definitely worth it.
And yes, it's not about the features, but the benefits and the problems it solves.
Thanks Nika!
Rarely. Anytime we tried to do some cold outreach campaigns, they did not result in any sales. I think that it really depends on what you’re selling. I personally prefer getting involved in conversations where prospects are talking about their problems or enquiring about the tools that might help them. I always favour warm leads so you’re not spraying and praying.
@simona_o_neill3 I have always loved that phrase, spray and pray lol. As far as cold anything, I prefer coffee and occasionally pizza, cold email/calls are so annoying to work with.
@busmark_w_nika real personalisation! I will only send a cold email if I know enough about my prospect to make valid assumptions. For example if I saw someone asking for the best screen recording tool, I’m on it because I know that what I have is exactly what they’re looking for. Also if I know that they have a particular problem and need an alternative solution, I’m going to reach out with my suggestion.
@simona_o_neill3 Agree. Conversations can also make a better understanding of the prospect's needs.

no conversion to paid yet, but i probably am not hitting the scale required to get conversions
Cold emails have been hit or miss for me.

yeah, i've sent cold emails. success varies, but personalizing them and offering clear value helps.
anyone else have cold email tips?
@shajedulkarim_ I agree, personalisation is key. But it’s very difficult to know what’s valuable to that particular prospect unless you speak to them first or observe them talking about it elsewhere. It’s easy to make assumptions once you have some evidence to back it up. For example, if your only personalisation is the name and the role of your prospect, the cold email sent to them will come across as spam. Simply because this info can be easily automated and doesn’t require any effort. Knowing that someone works in that role doesn’t qualify you to assume that they care about the same things as other people in the same role. The real personalisation is when you include things that are not general knowledge, but stuff requiring some research work, observing their or their company’s work, interactions, development and other details that may signal buying intent. I love using short up to 1min videos or screenshots to show that I’ve done my homework and I’ve put some effort into this cold outreach. I am reaching because I genuinely believe that I can offer value to them.

I think cold emails work wonders if done right. Our team gets a good number of meetings and sales through them.

@busmark_w_nika I believe it's the correct mixture of the message copy, the email list and the platform that makes a difference.

Yes, trying to find a proper strategy for them. But no results so far... Hope we are doing something wrong and eventually we will find some workable strategy. What about you?
experienced success with LI cold messages.
Cold emails are of no use these days.
I did cold emails/calling a long time ago for stock fintech for a side hustle for UBS Paine Webber, it was terrible.
@busmark_w_nika The worst is trying to get through secretary or executive assistants, to get to your lead, I would even fake an British accent when I called Britain 🤣🤣 I'm sure it sounded terrible and obvious, because I already have a NYC accent.
They convert much worse than warms - obviously. We try to personalise them and have a real interest in the person.
I have done a tone of cold emailing for a lot of products. It call comes down to strong email writing. If your sequences look like everyone elses then they will just be more noise.
