2023 gave us ChatGPT as a tipping point for AI-based innovations. But do you think this trend will follow in 2024 or later? What is the life span of AI for you?

AI's existence is akin to a marathon relay. As each year passes it passes the baton to a newer more advanced version ensuring a continuous run toward innovation.

This is just the beginning, especially for ai driven products. Let’s not forget they make their biggest money from our API usage rather than from subscriptions!
“AI” won’t die in the same way wireless mobile telephone technology hasn’t died. It will continue to evolve through various iterations each one more powerful and useful than the last. However, 99% of the current AI startups will die. In a similar way to crypto, these startups are all attempting to make use of the new “cool” tech without really having a compelling user problem to solve, or if they are solving a real user problem, they are not solving it well. The number of chat bots looking to “solve” real human issues that are being created at the moment is ludicrous, and the “solution” they offer is to provide generic, often inaccurate, but realistic-sounding text, generated by AI, to real human issues. People want intelligence and actual interactions or advice behind their enquiries, not a weighted average statistical response. All these bots sit on top of the same underlying platforms, and all spit out the same answers as the next one. They will quickly dissolve down due to lack of user retention.
@mike_fitzbaxter very thorough, my notion behind this question was exactly what you answered. The real use of this innovation lies in solving people’s problems. However, saying that bots will dissolve down is also a bit of an overstatement. These chatbots may lack the TAM in the long run but they still do have a high impact on the right market and I believe it will continue to do so. But yes, not all will stand till the end - and my question was pointed in that direction.
It's just started so "Soon" is too early to say.

One day maybe but soon? Nope :)
What makes you say that?
No chance dear.
What makes you say that?

Think of AI as a perpetually growing tree. It might change its branches leaves and fruits but the essence remains: constant evolution without a clear endpoint.
There is no chance

No, AI as a technology is not expected to "die" soon. It will likely continue evolving and playing a significant role in various fields.

AI's future is a marathon not a sprint. It's continuously evolving so predicting an expiration date is like forecasting the weather in a decade complex and uncertain.
@saqib_ali_ The development of new technologies requires time, theoretical groundwork, and practical implementation, just like ChatGPT, which has also been developed for many years. Perhaps there will be better than ChatGPT in the future, but it is unlikely to happen so soon.

It won't die!
No AI will never die
I don't believe it's a trend or a hype. If you're talking about AI products/startups then yes most of them will die as AI becomes better. Most of the products are nothing but GPT wrappers, they're just riding the hype and will die with it. But if you're talking about AI in general, I believe it's here to stay for a long time.
