With economic downturns becoming a reality worldwide, all big companies no longer invest or have significantly reduced their budgets for paid advertisements. The only channel that is continuing to grow in terms of ads at the moment is Pinterest. With all the news hovering around the downtrend of the ads industry, do you think this trend will end?

I think more and more startups are realizing that building a marketing strategy around paid ads is not a sustainable model. Organic growth is perhaps the strongest indicator that marketing teams are operating successfully, and it is also an important metric in validating interest in your product (though not necessarily product/market fit).
Investors will look at it favorably as well because it will cause your overall customer acquisition costs to decrease, driving profitability on a per-user basis and, ultimately, for your company overall.

I don't think any channel can provide you with the distribution that Google, Meta, and Twitter can, in a short duration. I see paid as a great tool to get initial traction and experiment quickly.
Yes, you will hit a plateau with paid, that's when you spend more on branding and you will see that the paid channels start performing better.
SEO and content marketing are great if you have the time and resources to build them.

@vishal_godhwani Yes, I agree. If we are looking for some instant results and there's a time restriction, then paid ads is a great option. SEO and content marketing take their time to deliver the output. 🙌
The need for paid ads has decreased significantly as digital marketing and SEO work have increased. In addition, the high cost of paid ads led companies to organic search.

Well said. 🙌
@arda_finsmart Can't agree more. Because of the short of budget, most of marketing team prefer to do SEO and content marketing. Besides, marketing teams are looking for some free tools or cheap tools to help them operate social media. I would like to recommend LINKTOOL on Twitter which can help you gain real and active followers. More detail: https://www.producthunt.com/prod...

@arda_finsmart Right, I agree. Digital Marketing and SEO has taken organic marketing to a new level! 🚀
I believe so, as new channels are emerging for it, new approaches are being applied with omni-channels, and marketers get smarter along the way. Overall, the whole world's economy is going down so that correlates with the response from advertisers + all the privacy thing :)
also, as you've spotted yourself probably, the budget is being shifted to podcasts/authority figures to promote (at least that's what I'm seeing) due to covid boom
