You can do most for free at the beginning, so paid SEO tools are not essential (at least for starting). If you want to level up your game later, using top SEO tools will allow you to go deeper. That will give you an edge against competitors, indeed. . PS: We casually have listed an awesome SEO tool on lifetime sale in our marketplace. It is focused on helping to rank higher and faster on Google. In case you want to take a look at it >> https://saaszilla.co/deals/strel...

Depends on the niche you're trying to compete in. If it's a super competitive niche (ex: wordpress, hosting) having paid SEO tools like Ahrefs definitely helps a lot to do competitor research and backlink building.

No, they are not. At least, not for me. I am an online marketer since before most tools were even invented, so I am more than used to working without them.

You just need 1 tool to have everything you need in order to do good SEO. for example, SERanking, etc or you can invest in 1 LTD with a whole SEO suite in it. Rest all is content game and having quality backlinks, post you have your Technical and On-Page SEO sorted.

The ranking of your site is decided by the Google Algorithm, based on the content and other specifications of your site. You can build an SEO-friendly site, without any paid tools and rank high on Google. But of course, paid tools make your job easier and way faster, so later on it's a good idea to invest in them.

I'd advise you to start with free SEO plans. Ahrefs & Semrush provide nice ones. While growing, consider upgrading your plans. Best!

Well, SEO is very important but that are tons of free tools that can give you a very solid inspection on what to improve. I guess that if the website you have is complex and full of pages under pages, than you should definitely pay a tool to improve it.

@ninacressoni what are some examples of the free tools you use for this?

@benjamin_katz2 there's this mobile app called SEO checker, I really like it, it gives the basics, for further analysis you should look for a more professional one, but this is a good start. Googling best SEO practices always helps too.

I'd love to use the pro version of ahrefs, but it doesn't seem to be affordable enough for my current project.

@privacytoolsio yeh, but is it impossible for us to reach our goal without these pricey tools?

Yes, paid SEO tools can be necessary as they provide valuable insights and advanced features that can significantly improve a website's search engine optimization. I am also using paid tools to working on my website (https://falaya.com/) These tools can help identify technical SEO issues, track keyword rankings, provide in-depth competitor analysis, and generate detailed reports. Paid tools offer much more accurate and in-depth data compared to free tools and can save time and effort in the long run. Utilizing a paid SEO tool can help a website rank higher and ultimately drive more traffic and revenue.
