No. For me, Slack is just a tool, like so many others. It does not solve the problems of communication better or worse than others.
We use other tools for various reasons like:
- self-hosted Matrix Chat for communication within the team (in general)
- in addition, GitHub for the development team.
- in addition, a custom-made Marketing Automations Tool built in SeaTable for our marketing team
- in addition, zammad as ticketing system for our support team
- ...
OurSails
I have used Slack for many years in previous roles. We find Slack to be noisy and raises the urgency and takes away from focus time. One of the reasons we are building OurSails to reduce the urgency and give back focus time!
