Hi Avishkar, It depends on what you mean by 'utilising Discord to market their startup'. Discord does not have any advertising on its platform, and self-promotion is generally forbidden in most servers (although some may have a self-promotion channel). So, from that POV, Discord is NOT for marketing your startup. However, a growing number of startups are creating a Discord server for their startup to build a product community where they can engage with early users, provide support, get feedback on their product, etc. Most AI companies have their Discord server, (eg. Open AI, MidJourney, Stable Diff, Leonardo, etc). For startups in the creative space, Discord has the added benefit of also making it possible for users to share their work, experiments, etc.

I think crypto folks use it a lot. I saw so many servers there and even Telegram chats with 10-20k people. It’s not for me, but thematic servers are pretty active. I have a bunch of language learning servers. So it would be pretty great to market your language learning app there. Why not?

Discord is a goldmine for reaching specific communities. The crypto and language learning servers, for example, are bustling with enthusiasts eager to engage. If you've got a startup, especially one that aligns with these niches, it's a fantastic platform to explore for marketing. I've also stumbled upon Discord Advertising Service, which seems like a handy tool to spread the word about your startup. It's all about connecting with the right audience, and Discord is brimming with diverse, active communities.
