Does the education system need to change?

I saw such a discussion here lots of times, but it's usually rather polarizing, I always thought not about drastic changes, like rebuilding everything from the ground, but to expanding it. Giving pupils and students not only scientific, but also practical knowledge. I understand that now society accepted that practical knowledge should be given by the family, yet I saw lots of people who didn't know how to cook themselves a dinner or how to pay their taxes.

yeah, totally agreed. It would be so awesome to gain some financial knowledge at school, to know how to earn money and spend them wisely
The jobs of the future will require different skills than the jobs of today, and the education system needs to prepare students for these new challenges.
The current education system is not equitable. Students from low-income families and students of color are often at a disadvantage, and the education system needs to do more to level the playing field.
