Finding side project opportunities

Hello, I am currently working as a product manager based in Seoul, but I'm currently looking to build a career as a Product Designer. While co-founding a startup with a friend, I got interested in design and decided to switch my career. However, without a formal design background, it's been difficult to make this transition. To gain more experience, I'm looking to join side projects, and I believe working with people from different countries would provide valuable insights. Do you know of any communities where foreigners like me can participate in side projects?

Check out communities like Indie Hackers, MakerLog, and r/SideProject on Reddit. Lots of opportunities to collaborate with makers worldwide on side projects to build your portfolio. Also consider volunteering your design skills for open source projects or local nonprofits to gain experience. Attending hackathons and startup weekends is another great way to meet potential collaborators. Build your online presence by sharing your work on Dribbble, Behance, etc. and engage with the design community. Keep learning, creating, and putting yourself out there - the right opportunities will come! Best of luck with the career transition.
