2 years ago, we launched a categorized database of 700 pitch decks from top tech companies that raised millions in funding to inspire other founders. Initially it was free, contributing to our product-led growth. We later monetized it, currently making $279 MRR plus extra $100-200 in one-time payments. Now we’re introducing upgraded version with over 1200 pitch decks (https://www.producthunt.com/products/pitch-deck-database-2-0). We’re debating whether to charge for this service or revert to a free model. What’s your opinion?

Charge $1 for a preview with a magic link instead of making me login, please 🙏 haha Imho, should remain a paid product b/c of the volume of pitch decks. I'd personally monetise with a one-time payment + Private discord. (If I adopt mindset of a founder, I'd wanna discuss the pitch deck I choose for inspiration with a like-minded community. Sort of similar to StarterStory by Pat Wells.) I just left a comment on a launch today asking for less of a login-wall, so this is particularly relevant.

Hey Esus @esus, thank you for your feedback! 🙏 I know some platforms require $1 payment on free trials in order to prevent bots from signing up, but never tried it on our platforms. So you would keep it as paid right :) We'll keep it in mind. Cheers
