What will be the future of Grammarly and similar apps now that AI tools like ChatGPT, which are free to use, have emerged?

I think Grammarly for example has a great future. It’s built to do one thing really well, integrates with products exactly where the user needs it, while ChatGPT for example is more general and needs more context switching to be used for Grammarly’s specific use case. If fact, I actually think ChatGPT will increase the demand for tools like Grammarly as people get more used to idea of “assistive” apps that help them with their tasks throughout the day. It’ll be really interesting to see how it all evolves though. Exciting times!

The original Grammarly functionality is much more embedded in the web and app experience than ChatGPT, allowing you to edit text wherever you are (although that's changing a bit with the proliferation of GPT-enabled extensions, etc.) You might be interested that they've recently launched Grammarly Go which uses GPT tech to allow users to edit content using prompts in addition to the existing features. But ultimately, companies seem to be converging on features, as is typically the case across industries.
