Hey Product Hunt community! I'm Francois, founder of Paypipe.io, and I'm thrilled to introduce our solution to a problem that's plagued freelancers and solo professionals for far too long. The Problem: Have you ever completed a project, only to be left hanging when it's time to get paid? I've been there, and I've seen countless others struggle with late payments or, worse, no payment at all. The Solution: After 10 months of hard work, fueled by personal frustration and a desire to help my fellow professionals, we've built Paypipe.io. It's not just a payment tool; it's peace of mind for freelancers and independent contractors everywhere. Key Features: • Offer Creation - [One-Time, Milestones, or Hourly] • Payment Security - [Funds held until delivery] • Paypipe ID (Payipe.me/username) - [A free professional online profile] • Centralised Communications - Manage chats, files, notifications and actions in one place. Your Support Matters: We're launching tomorrow, and I'd be incredibly grateful for your upvotes, feedback, and support. Let's put an end to payment ghosting together! I'd love to hear your thoughts: • What's your worst payment horror story? • What features would make Paypipe a must-have for you? Cheers!

ghosting after completing work is unfortunately all too common. I’ve dealt with it a few times and it’s a major pain. Paypipe.io’s offer creation and payment security features could be exactly what’s needed to protect freelancers.

Hi François, I'd say there's definitely a need for what you are doing. The more safety net for the freelancers the better. I'd have 2 questions: * In my mind blockchain is ideal for these types of trustless collaborations. Do you use that behind the scenes, or have you chosen a different tech stack? * Don't the freelancer marketplaces (Fiverr, Toptal ...) already offer payment protection? If no, then it might be a good idea to partner with them. If yes, then is your software only for freelancers who don't use those marketplaces? Personally, I've never been a freelancer but I've hired freelancers from Toptal some years ago, and I don't remember payment security to have been an issue (it might be that they've have asked for an up-front payment, I don't recall). Happy to attend your launch, although I haven't seen paypipe on the "coming soon" page.

@doga_armangil Thanks for letting me know. I can see it on the coming soon lise. I took a screenshot but then I realised that I cannot attach it to my comment 😅 I've reached out to the support team about this and a bunch of other issues I am facing. There seems to be a bunch of bugs that PH is working on resolving. It's a shame because it is impacting our launch. If you click on Notify me and become a follower (not sure if you've already done so), it might start showing you Paypipe in the list.

Hi @doga_armangil Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and questions. I loved the points you brought up as they are things that were on my mind from the early ideation stage. Below are my quick answers :) 1- Blockchain: As a blockchain enthuiast myself, my initial idea was to use blockchain from the get go, but we realised that it's not an urgent value-adding feature to start with and it is not an off the shelf feature we can and will easily add at a later stage (future feature releases) using the one offered by the cloud hosting service. 2- Marketplace: The ones you mentioned do have the payment protection part that paypipe offers. My goal is democratise the security and simplicity offered by the marketplaces at high fees and stringent rules by making is freely accessible to freelancers and clients who wish to work directly as opposed to going through a marketplace. In saying that, there is a lot of marketplaces out there that do not offer this part of the journey and yes, we do have plans to integrate with those directly and enhance their offering. I'm surprised that you can't see the coming soon listing. It should be visible here: https://www.producthunt.com/new/... Can you please check and let me know if you still can't see it? Thanks again, Francois

@francois_h Your project page shows up fine at my end, thanks for the URL, but I still don't see a link to that page from the "coming soon" or "launch archive" lists (https://www.producthunt.com/comi... https://www.producthunt.com/lead... https://www.producthunt.com/lead...).

I’ve experienced being ghosted after finishing work. It’s tough , especially after working hard on a project. I’ve found it’s best to stay professional and maybe follow up once or twice. It’s important to focus on other opportunities and not let it get to you.

@bailey_dotson Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am building paypipe so you don't have to follow up. Following up is not a solution it's a bandage fix. I'd love to hear your thoughts on paypipe.io and if you have any questions or concerns. Your support when we go live in today will mean the world to us!
