I launched today. Got two upvotes so far. No biggie though, cause I'm dropping on the first of every month. I'd say, with most things, you play the long game. Being successful on here is more a function of making new things over a long period of time, developing an organic following, and letting that audience support you over time. It took the creators of Angry Birds 51 previous tries over 6 years to finally make Angry Birds (which is 8.5/ year). Imagine what happens if you launch 51 products on Product Hunt over 6 years. In short, my advice would be to play the long game. Always be thinking of the next innovative thing you can build. Good luck!
