Hey hunters, what's your take on AI-written comments here on PH?

Seeing so many OBVIOUS AI-written comments on ProductHunt lately. Honestly, if we're not putting real thought into our conversations, why bother? Missing the human touch.

It's super annoying. I don't know if it's bots or people actually doing it but I can't stand it. Annoying to see 5 people comment basically the same thing with slight variations. The fact that it is AI is clear as day.

@rmarlow same pain here Ronald. I just don't get it. I guess that's what happens when you quantify the incentives algorithmic.

How is that possible, is there a bot or something?

@swayammi7 well two possible ways i can think of; 1. using browser based AI agents 2. copy/pasting manually, but not sure why a real hunter would wanna do such a foolish thing and so it's probably those farms with fake accounts you can hire on places live Fivver.

I wanted to start the same thread. I saw a lot of AI generated comments in the past few days and I was disappointed. It’s so obvious that they’re generated artificially, the structure and the wording is always the same. What bothers me more, is that this is a great place to create meaningful discussions and connections between peers, we’re not here only to sell our products to each other

its disappointing.. the AI responses add no real value to the launch or discussion at all.

I absolutely hate it. I reply to those comments writing "this was generated by chatgpt" and then report it. There is a report option "Artificially generated (e.g. ChatGPT)" on Product Hunt. You can see it when you click "Report" on a comment. Glad to know others are also annoyed with AI-generated comments.

@deniz_savkay Ah good to know! I am gonna do the same. thanks.
