How are you dealing with the Gumroad price increase?

Question

As you've all known, Gumroad has increased from a tiered pricing for a 10% flat fee for all users (with some exceptions going out to their highest performing users).

Now that the price has increased, what's your next course of action?

Although I'm not a user, I would personally take the third option. I think that you'll lose a lot of customers if you migrate, and despite Gumroad taking a large sum of money, it certainly doesn't hurt to have it there, since it's still a % fee.

Though I would send a message to all your customers telling them the situation and how they can support you better + sending a link to an alternate site.

If I was a creator with high-income, I would definitely leave cause the tiered pricing was from 2.9% to 10% and now it's 10% flat. For high income creator, the rate increased by 7.1% is unacceptable.

@richard_gao2 Yes, for mid-tail influencers who may not make a lot, the rise maybe 2 - 3%. It's not a big deal.

@johnbell123 10% flat *plus* credit card fees. I believe the fees were all inclusive before, right? I was at the 7% tier and now the total fee is nearly doubling (~13%). I will plan to use it for a few small things and freebies because it does have pretty handy built in email marketing tool, but for any future releases I'll be looking at alternatives. Podia looks pretty compelling just from my cursory research.

@johnbell123 Of course. But a lot of your customers are still on Gumroad, so I would think it might be better to use another platform but also keep using gumroad.
