How did you choose the name of your app?

Most of people takes way too long to define their project's name even before having starting it... For us, we were already shaping the outline of our platform since 2-3 months when MIDSTAY came up. I had a call with my father, and I was explaining to him that I met a super interesting guy in Bali, called Magnus. He is software engineer and myself as a Product guy we wanted to join force and help remote workers work and travel. This wouldn't be a short-term stay like Tourists, neither a long-term stay like Expats... I mentioned to him by call, this is more in between... He said mid-term stays? Midstay? That sounded right directly. I said YES dad! This is our new project's name. We'll be launching it to the amazing PH community at the end of the month, don't hesitate to have a look at it: https://www.producthunt.com/products/midstay

Interesting story, thanks for sharing! I have chosen "Viralify" name by playing around the word "viral". Then I found that the Viralify domain is also available and we locked it.

@daxeelsoni That's a great approach! I'm always checking domain availability as well when starting a new project

Our product, FeedLens (https://feedlens.app/), acts as a virtual lens into your app's feedback universe. It monitors mobile app reviews, automatically extracts insights, and facilitates seamless responses – providing you with a comprehensive view of your user feedback. Hence the name FeedLens :D

From our docs: "The name Leapp is based on the word leap and is pronounced /l:ip/. We chose this name because the project enables you to be one step away from your cloud environments." I like to put this kind of info in our documentation :D

That's a good name and backstory! I had family involvement too - I had a great long list which I read out and the fam said "that one", so that was that :)

Nice story and nice name indeed! I think choosing the name of the product is actually very important. For instance, it took us months to stick with "EraseID", and we went through lots of back and forth. We choose it because it should immediately explain the user what the product does. Best of luck with your launch!

@alexletizia Thanks for sharing! I guess one of the trap to choose a name where it describes too precisely, is the danger of feeling stuck when you need to pivot because you don't find product market fit... How do you do if it happens? do you change the name?

I had this name idea coming up at night with our App. Cause we were checking so many names but we couldn´t found the right one. And then LetsNet came into my mind its like the shortage form of "lets network". Cause with LetsNet Networking has never been easier and we focus on face 2 face networking with business people nearby :)
