How do you choose products to upvote?

I've read several comments about people supporting only products they can find useful for themselves. Do you choose the same way, or do you like to check out products from different fields out of curiosity or something else? We are launching an app for soccer team owners, coaches, and managers, which isn't the broadest audience and definitely not something for every indie developer and entrepreneur to use, but we still want to try! Here is our coming soon teaser πŸ‘‡ https://www.producthunt.com/products/steerer

I mostly support things that fall within my areas of interest. However, sometimes something may sound interesting even when I know nothing about it. If the product seems useful to me, then I'll support it. And I'm going to check out your launchπŸ˜‰

@oleksandr_zhabin this is mostly what I hear from people, yes! Totally fair, though, and I can understand that we all have more interest in things we can use or at least understand easily. And thank you, would be great! πŸ”₯

I typically look for solutions to problems my team is having, try it if it's free and then upvote if the product is helpful.
