How do you decide where to post an article, on your website or on other platforms?

Hi PH community,
When you write an article for your project you need to decide where to post it. I tend to post all articles on the project's website for SEO reasons, however, I understand that you need to post on other platforms also.
My question is "how to decide where to post an article?".

@sandradjajic Yes, and how do you choose where to post the next one? Let's say you have an article that worth being on the website OR medium. How to choose? Especially if you have not many.
@sandradjajic @veryayskiy I believe she's saying she posts on both at the same time. I have done the same in the past and I believe if I'm not mistaken that this is fine as Google won't punish you SEO wise for this.
That being said, if you're thinking about posting on some Medium Publications, they typically want original content that isn't posted elsewhere.
In these cases I would debate whether or not it's more valuable to me on my website, or if it's more valuable reaching an audience that I don't have a share of already.

Depending on what kind of audience you're building. For instance, PH is where early adapters and makers are, and twitter is where techies and entrepreneurs are. Ticktok and Instagram are super trendy, so if you want to target trendy audience, they are the ones you should publish your thoughts.

we post it on our medium (still working on cms for the website) and do a quick promo
for seo reasons we tend to write easier (think lower quality. not much :) )
as for other types of content, we have a list of target websites for publication. we research best types of content and tailor what we have/can do
