Is there a specific strategy/app you use to discover completely new podcasts?

I used to use a app called Podz where it use to play a small clips of random podcasts. This is the place I use to find some thing interesting to listen to. Spotify eat them and didn’t get anything out of it yet. I find it hard to go on any regular podcast app discovery section and look for something new.

Usually through Youtube recommendations. For some reason Spotify recommendations does not work for me.
I use this app called the “podcast app” it has tab on the podcasts profile that shows you related podcasts.
Also I’m very much into podcasts to the point where I listen podcasts that talk about other podcasts.
Soon hopefully with Kradl.io 😉
Spotify :)
@aalexlion really? their recommendations are working for you?
@angrigoryan__ Yes, it's based on what you already listened and I find their discovery algorithm really relevant for me.
Usually through guests to be honest
@maxwellcdavis oh interesting. Guests on other shows? Or people you follow are going on podcasts and you find the podcast as a result?
Luna Ring
I honestly discover via recommendations of friends/peers. No other recommendation engine so far has been good enough
FindMyRemoteJobs
moonbeam.fm using that for podcast discovery.
I typically use twitter!
I just built PodcastSaver.com to make it easy to download podcasts, so I've currently got a mouth full of dogfood.
Google Podcast
@santosh_sendha and recommendations work for you?
@santosh_sendha @angrigoryan__ the recommendations are useless in my opinion. BUT, the search functionality is effective.
Mostly find new shows after their hosts are guests on shows I already listen to. I'd say ~75% of my subscriptions happened this way.
Others are a mix of social media sources:
- Smb I follow starts a podcast
- Smb recommends a certain episode
Pain points: Finding shows via search for a specific guest. For example, if I hear somebody interesting as a guest on a show, and want to find more shows they've been on.
@john_mctavish1 so like seeing someone's audio resume? :D

By asking people I admire.
From the recommendations and YouTubers.
Let the podcast platforms recommend you, looks like they know better. Just kidding, but true for most 🤫
Twitter!
I don't find the suggestions from apps that I use that great so prefer to get recommendations from friends / colleagues.
I recognize about it on Twitter or Youtube with a subscription to my favourite artists
minimalist phone: creating folders
Believe it or not, I discovered many podcasts thanks to the YouTube platform. Some creators make content on other channels (duplicating the content to gain more followers, subscribers, listeners etc.). Also, I know about some podcasts thanks to reading books (as the source of information).
