When thinking about competitors, I believe the key is to leverage your own strengths, such as: 1. If you have a deep understanding of a specific niche or scenario and have spent years refining it, you should focus on perfecting that niche as much as possible. 2. For independence developers or small teams, speed and responsiveness are the biggest advantages. 3. If you have a certain influence within a community, co-building with community members is the best option. What else would you suggest for everyone?

If there isn't any advantage, there's no point in building one. šŸ˜Šļø --- Of all the competitors of Draftly.so that we have seen, these are the major drawbacks everyone has 1. Too complicated to you - Users shuoldn't need a PhD from MIT to use a simple software. 2. Too costly - Draftly solves problem at 1/5th of the price of one of our competitors better than they do (this is coming from one of our enterprise customers). 3. Stuff with unnecessary features - a few of the competitors have too many features but they all do things half-baked. We want to solve a small problem but solve it effectively.

I focus on understanding my competitors' pain points and then build features that directly address gaps in their offerings. It helps my product stand out.

I would copy the core features of my competitors if possible and try to differentiate to the points where customers are having the most problem.

Your biggest competitive advantage often lies in what you choose NOT to do. The most successful products I've seen didn't try to be everything to everyone - they deliberately ignored 80% of feature requests to absolutely nail the 20% that transformed their core users' lives.
