Always keeping my 1-2 top-priority tasks for the day in mind regardless of what I am doing at the moment. On a bigger scale, I'm also looking to avoid being busy at all through trying to get at the root cause of what gets me overloaded and scattered.

Mostly break it down to small goals, it requires daily planning, and a weekly review of your path towards major goals. Besides that taking personal care of what we eat, drinking water, physical exercise and sleep it's key to have more emotional strength on busy days, but they thing is consistent, not just doing it once in a while when needed, it requires constant effort for regular improving results.
