How does everyone feel about AI-authored books?

My sense is that this is the direction AI powered book writing will end up, with the AI doing almost all of the heavy lifting of filling in the book content, and where the author just provides all of the key creative insights or novel plot points and character descriptions to the model. If you’re using something like Sudowrite or ChatGPT to continuously generate text, why do you prefer them to complete generation?
