How good is PH for launching?

We have been working on our async video conferencing tool (https://timz.flowers) since Jan 2020. I was excited last summer to do a PH launch in winter 2020, because I had read that you might attract thousands of visitors or signups. Therefore, I wanted to prepare everything perfectly. But implementation took longer than we expected. In the meantime, I read various other reports about PH launches, and for a while, I thought maybe the first euphoric report was somehow biased or manipulated, since all the other reports sounded more discouraging. In one post, the author wrote that they obtained fewer than five registrations after becoming the product of the day. OK, I see. Experts, such as PH mentor Chris Messina, recommend the product should be ready in a really perfect version, with iOS and Android apps, for a proper PH launch. Now I'm beginning to doubt the whole idea. Because when I have such an elaborated product available, then most likely I have already found product-market fit, and I already have my first thousand paying customers - why would I need a PH launch where some are reporting that they obtained five subscribers from it. Community building takes a lot of time here. When we launch, we are bringing our community to PH, which is beneficial to PH when everyone does this. But is PH really that beneficial for us? Is it worth the effort? How do you feel about this?
