What if there are no goals set? How about waking up every day and ensuring we are doing the right thing for our users, for our team, and for all our stakeholders? Is that a better approach?

Guess it boils down to your own personality.
I know of people who get stifled when they have goals, and there are people who thrive with it.
Personally, I do an annual visioning and then work backwards on monthly, weekly, and daily basis. For example - If I want to reach $5000MRR by end of year, all my goals and decisions will ONLY work to achieve that, and I will focus on building and maintaining the momentum, rather than fussing over missed days/week.

I find yearly goals the most useful, it is long-lasting motivation.
Daily goals are just to-do lists, I don't even call them goals, task is a more appropriate term.

The annual goal is to set the direction
The monthly goal is to set the urge
The weekly goal is to execute the task
:)
Goals are important to stay focused and motivated. I think Creating a goal is very easy but the execution is very important, much time we created a plan but due to the lack of execution part we are lacking to achieve the goals/targets. so I think consistency and discipline are also one of the most important aspects.
Weekly Plans: help us to meet up short-term goals, if we divided the large goals into small fragments that will be very easy for us to achieve that target.
Monthly Plans: Monthly goals can be helpful for tracking progress towards an annual goal and making adjustments as needed.
Annual Goal: Annual Goals are the one of the best way to setup the long term objectives.

Your goals help you stay focused on your long-term objectives and provide short-term motivation. They can help you break down your work into smaller, more achievable tasks and keep you on track to reach your long-term goals. Additionally, setting goals helps you measure your progress and stay accountable.

Goals are great they can motivate you)
But donβt forget usual life
I will say that setting goals are the only way to achieve success in your life. They can be professional or personal, but the important thing is that they should be realistic. For example: Sometimes you set up something unrealistic that you know is unrealistic but still set up because you want to show something different, but this is not the actual setup; the actual setup is seeing yourself with the perfect information to help you succeed in life.
Goals can be a helpful way to set direction, focus your efforts, and measure progress. The time frame for your goals can depend on several factors, including your personal preferences, your goal type, and the resources available to you. Here are a few things to consider when setting goals:
Annual goals: These can be useful for setting long-term direction and priorities. They can also help you break down larger goals into smaller, more manageable chunks.
Monthly goals: These can be an excellent way to set intermediate-term goals that allow you to progress on your annual goals. They can also help you stay on track and make adjustments as needed.
Weekly goals can be helpful in setting short-term goals that help you stay focused and progress on your monthly and annual goals. They can also help you prioritize your tasks and stay organized.
In general, it's essential to choose a time frame for your goals that is realistic and achievable. It's also essential to review and adjust your goals as needed to ensure they are still relevant and aligned with your priorities.
I think a goal is an important thing, the goal can keep us walking on the right path. What kind of goal depends on a case by case, not all things we can set it daily.
For self-development I prefer using the daily goal to make sure every day I grow up, then for my team/office I prefer using the weekly goal (currently work as general manager of an agency) because I know every people have their private stuff. Last for my hobby (product making) I set a monthly.
Very much
Goals are important.
They help us understand why we are doing what we are doing right now and whether it will be a satisfying experience in the end.
However, the intervals depend on the individual.
I would say daily goals are the most important. Followed by weekly.
Monthly and annual goals are hard to measure and predict. So I usually set them quite vaguely and improvise as time goes on.
@richard_gao2 Daily goals are really important when it comes to the long term goal

@richard_gao2 Agreed! I find it hard to stick to goals set for the long-term though.
If you don't set goals, make progress a little every day and keep moving in the right direction
Very much! Weekly goals are key to reach to your objective.
@joanduarte 101% True
They are definitely important. It's like a work plan. If you reach a goal, you're going in the right direction.
Weekly or Monthly goals are necessary
go with the flow. Life is temporary.
@aza_ahmed Trust me when I say this, whenever bad happens to me I used to think this :). I agree 100% life has it's own plans but we must keep fighting

@aza_ahmed haha, true that :)
It's important to set goals so you can stay productive.
Daily goals are also important to me, especially for people like me who are procrastinators.
