How important is pragmatic social impact activity for your business or startup?

Businesses talk about social impact, but the doing is another thing. Is it important for your business to be actively engaged in any form (be it carbon offsets, donations, grants, volunteering, sustainable procurement, etc)? Would you set aside budget toward it?
