How many of you who upvote a product actually use it?

There are so many products launched everyday and obviously as makers a lot of effort goes into building some of these. But how many of these do you really use before upvoting? Or do you upvote to show support because of the problem being solved? I have been guilty of this myself. A lot of the times I upvote because I like the idea but don't really use the product in detail.

Very good question, TBH there are times when I get excited and upvote... but on a day to day, forget that excitement & resort to the status quo.

I use every product I support launching for at least 10 minutes (unless I have to pay for it 🤣). Some products I start using almost every day. I like to just look for cool products on PH. Sometimes I find some real nuggets.

@barada_sahu The best find so far is Mage

@myprlab what are some real nuggets you have discovered?

I upvote primarily because I like the idea. In some cases, If I see the use case of myself or my team, I give it a try as well.

I try to first visit the product and understand the main offering and the core problem that they are solving before coming back to review and upvote a product.
Barada Sahu
@abhinay_kumar8 do you also try the product or do you take a look at their website and messaging before deciding to upvote?
Abhinay kumar
@barada_sahu Yeah I make a point to try out the product. That is the reason we have focussed a lot on improving that experience for our launch on 17th August as well! For our product also, we want to make the same experience possible for PH community. We hope that is the best driver to generate strong positive action and leads to a better word of mouth when people actually see what we are preaching

Generally I upvote whenever I like the idea and/or if the messaging appeals to me. While I comment to give feedbacks.

0-5% of the time haha. Oftentimes I will sign-up, comment, support in whatever way will help grow traction but I don't have a ton of immediate need for new software or frankly time to learn. I think the cool thing about this platform is that you can support in ways that increase visibility - offer initial insight - build traction without having to be a real early adoption + key target market.

@dzaitzow great pointers @dzaitzow - folks launching on PH also need to think of how to get early adopters and this would require sustained marketing beyond the initial launch. Using the launch as a vehicle to drive early feedback is great but the sustained marketing momentum is necessary to drive early traction and adoption.
