How much screen time is enough for healthy eyes?

This is a typical question people ask when they go for an eye checkup. But still, most of us have 8 hrs jobs or more, and limiting screen time seems an impossible task.
What do you guys do to limit your screen time? How do you manage? How frequently do you have to go for an eye checkup after you have started working from home?

I don’t really follow ophthalmological recommendations despite the fact that I worked for over a year in a large group of glasses.
Normally, we have to set a remote off-screen point every 20min for about 10s to avoid any problems and take a break from our poor eyes.
Otherwise, I go to the ophthalmologist every two years to check up and make sure everything is okay.
