Building in public is seeing users find value in what you've created—engaging your users early, which often leads to better products.
It is one of the most rewarding parts.
You gain valuable feedback to iterate and improve while building connections with the people you ultimately serve.

I am still too shy to build in public and personally I think my stuff would be boring. I would stare at the same bug for days lol

For the same reason, really. Show people my progress, ups and downs, my discoveries, and creating interest around my startup. The other, much more valuable reason, is for me to have something to look back on 10 years from now, and see how far I’ve come
As a solo founder, building in public gives me a lot of the support network that I miss out on by not having cofounders
I think honestly, without the public feedback and interaction, I would have found it a lot harder to stay motivated
