If you could improve one thing about Product Hunt, what would it be?

For me, it's how Product Hunt features products on the homepage. Sometimes, it's difficult to understand the criteria.
What about you?

+1 about clarifying the condition to be featured on the homepage.
Let the rank randomization in the first hours of the day, filter relevant products.

Products that aren't featured at launch are essentially invisible. It's a manual select as far as I understand. Not ideal if your the person making that decision doesn't understand your product.

If I could improve one thing about Product Hunt, it would be to add a "Bot Bouncer" at the entrance. Picture a virtual bouncer with sunglasses, asking each bot for ID before letting them in.
And for featuring products, maybe we need a mystical "Homepage Oracle" to handpick products with a crystal ball, ensuring the tagline mojo is just right.
Plus, can we get a "PH Matchmaker" app for messaging other hunters? Swipe left if you want to network, swipe right if you want to launch together!

I think that will be mainly bots - it's just not fair for the majority
The featured section is quite a problem for many; besides that, I would suggest:
- Dark mode(Please it's a must've now, & no I don't want to use third-party apps)
- Chat Feature

This as well but for me these 2 things:
– Bookmarking conversation as some hints are beneficial.
– Bots. – it is quite disturbing.

@olenabomko @umar_saleem I also noticed it, Umar. I am okay with the idea that everyone should get an equal chance to be featured but it feels like suppressing in some cases. Life is not fair but hardly to expect a good opinion about this platform when there will be a kind of "totalism". AKA welcome to the virtual SK republic lol :D

Launching soon!
@busmark_w_nika @olenabomko @umar_saleem 100 percent right, like when I post random questions they get featured, but when I post about something important to me, don't get feature :/
@busmark_w_nika @olenabomko @umar_saleem @hamza_afzal_butt Ditto, there's always something inexplicable in the conversations I get to see every day

@olenabomko @umar_saleem @hamza_afzal_butt @all_appp_games but with some bots there is a lot of fun hahaha

I just heard from a fellow hunter the reason why products are not featured is the quality of the tagline, videos and images uploaded. No idea if it's true 😂

+1 Absolutely, I agree. There’s no clear criteria for featuring products on Product Hunt’s homepage, and it’s disappointing when our hard work doesn’t get the visibility we hoped for. Unfortunately, there isn’t an FAQ addressing this issue on PH.
- Bots
- Sometimes not all discussions appear in the group.

1. Be able to post photos
2. No bots
More clarity on how products get feature would be helpful I think. It seems like the criteria can be a bit obscure at time.
Being able to message the Active member on Product hunt.
A few improvements I'd suggest for PH: 1) Better search & discoverability features to surface older but still relevant products. The current homepage focus on new launches means great products get buried fast. 2) Ability to follow specific topics/categories, not just hunters. I want to see the latest in spaces I care about. 3) Expanded user profiles showing products they've made, upvoted, commented on, etc. Helps gauge credibility & find people with shared interests. Just some ideas to make an already awesome platform even better! 🚀
Maybe a way to save interesting products to a 'Read Later' list? That way I could come back to cool products when I have more time to really dig in. Also ability to search products by tech stack, like 'products built with React' would be amazing for us techies!

It would be to enhance the search and discovery features. While the platform does a great job showcasing new products, adding more advanced filtering and personalized recommendations could help users find relevant products more easily and discover hidden gems tailored to their specific interests.
