I was recently discussing this with my teammate and she has the most productive meetings of anyone I know. Including the key tips she gave me below.
What would you add?
Pre-meeting:
- Use agendas to set a clear purpose for the meeting.
- Use pre-reads to help you get to the good stuff faster.
- Show up on time.
During-meeting:
- Time bucket items to help you stay on track.
- Use a parking lot to park good ideas to come back to later.
- Gently set boundaries to end the meeting on time.
Post-meeting:
- Leave a buffer to take notes at the end of the meeting.
- Reserve a few minutes at the end of each day to review action items from your meetings.

Sometimes I have meetings that last an entire day with my cofounder. For instance, today was our launch day, and we called for 15 hours!
ps. ringly.io is currently still live, your support would mean a lot to us!
