Hey, awesome PH community! This is Linda Miles with Cogency! I am one of the co-founders here at Cogency. Before starting Cogency I had been a full-stack developer at a number of companies and one common problem that I had been facing constantly was real-time team collaboration. I mean, there were tools out there already such as Zoom, Paint, Sketch.io, or Trello but none, put together, offered any real-time collaboration! For instance, often I would be using Zoom with co-workers to brainstorm a layout while having Paint opened up on my desktop and sharing my screen. My coworkers would then tell me what to draw, move, re-size, etc.. and this process would literally take hours and if someone had a flaky internet at that moment it would be next to impossible to collaborate. Very painful to say the least! Additionally, Trello and tools like it would be just as hard to use ( only possible through screen sharing ) and additionally not have enough features that were needed for task management. This is how Cogency was born! The goal was to bring together several tools that would be used daily by teams, and give it the ability to collaborate in real-time with the entire team, either “together on video” or “off video”. Let me give you an example: Imagine a situation where in a team of six (6), three members are having a joined video call while the other three members are not on the video call and simply working on the same sketch or board. All team members would be able to collaborate in real-time with one another! Sounds simple? Well, it is :) Try it for yourself! A couple of words on the deal.
