What do you think, folks? Is the learning curve steep when you are riding solo, or is it just a matter of perspective? And what are you currently working on learning right now, or *struggling* to figure out right now?

Personal branding is helping us more than anything else. Building consistent value-providing content on Twitter, ProductHunt and LinkedIn helps a lot. I have put all 13 tips which i learned in a thread for other to use https://www.producthunt.com/disc... I hope this helps first-time solopreneurs. Have a great weekend!

@daxeelsoni Exactly what I'm facing. "Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door" - Ralph Waldo Emerson Unfortunately this phrase has never applied to me D:

Yes, it's a steep learning curve. It's not a sprint. Pace yourself and expect things to take 3 - 10 times longer than you would like.

+10 for marketing.. It's not only the learning curve, it's that every other part of the process is WAY more fun to focus on. :)

I think it should be steep. Try to treat riding solo as a challenge (to yourself). Just play, make it fun, it's much easier.

@octocode Yes i belive it is steep however, but I believe it is a skill that we can all learn eventually.

@shinny There is this famous quote: "Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door" - Ralph Waldo Emerson But it has never applied to me :(

@shinny @xavier_jj @brenkinfa Product should be that good. If your product is good, then the offer is not strong enough for people to show interest. I can assure you, if your product's good, work on the offer. Don't worry about marketing being complex. The best way I internalize it is if your offer is good, people will try your product. If people like your product, they will refer someone who also could benefit from it. And with that loop, you have referral marketing in play. Once you nail the offer and product, you only have an awareness problem, which is very easy once you have a strong offer. Trust me on that. Do reply here, and I can keep this conversation going.

@shinny @brenkinfa @ryan_dsouza2 Hey Ryan, do mean affiliate marketing or word of mouth?
    Ryan Dsouza
@shinny @brenkinfa @xavier_jj Affiliate is different. At its core, an affiliate marketer is a salesperson who is paid on the commission of the sale. Word of mouth is referral -> which means - people like your product so much that when you ask them if they know someone who has the same problem you helped the customer solve, they can think of at least one person and are open to making a 3-way intro. Referral means people are willing to bet their reputation by sharing your product to someone close to them. When referrals start, it means you have something of quality. And Shinny, you are helping me out here by going deep on a topic, as it helps me understand this platform. Poke my brain where needed.
    Xavier JJ
@shinny @brenkinfa @ryan_dsouza2 How can u encourage people to have word of mouth. You mean that the product is so good and works well for them such that it automatically spreads by word of mouth?

What I struggle with all the time is prioritisation. SaaS will always have customisations and no 2 clients will come with similar asks.

I'm trying to figure out where to start: what do I need to know to get started with a MicroSaaS business and a "solopreneur" career? I have a handful of money! How much do I need, economically speaking? Who can I get to evaluate my idea? What niche market can I target? In a nutshell, I am just starting out and already in the "Fear and Stress" phase.
