Sales first, nothing helps more than making calls and learning from the market personally!

Advertising to invite people to try your product. That lead to sales. With sales, you have money to invest in marketing (which, let me emphasize, is not advertising).

As a startup founder, I believe that both marketing and sales are equally important for the success of a product. However, I would say that it's best to start with marketing first before diving into sales. When you're starting out, you need to create awareness around your product and generate interest among potential customers. This is where marketing comes in. By promoting your product through various channels such as social media, content marketing, or advertising, you can build a buzz and attract initial attention to your product. Once you have generated interest and have a solid audience, you can start focusing on sales. This is when you can reach out to potential customers directly and start converting them into paying users. By using the insights you have gathered from your marketing efforts, you can tailor your sales approach to fit the needs and interests of your audience. Of course, this doesn't mean that you have to completely separate marketing and sales. They can and should work together in a complementary way. For example, you can use data from your sales interactions to improve your marketing messages and vice versa. But in general, I would recommend starting with marketing first and then moving into sales once you have generated enough interest and awareness around your product.

@amal_abdullaev yeah that make sense. We are planning to try more Google SEM in following weeks. Also our product ILLA Cloud is going to launch next monday, 20th March, please take a look at it if you have time by then.
Both marketing and sales are important and should be focused on at the same time to generate leads, build brand awareness, and turn leads into customers :)

In order to sell your goods or services, you need to have a sales team that gets in contact with the customers and represent the truth about your business. If the sales team is ready to serve the customers 24/7, you will make more sales.

Marketing is all about creating awareness and generating interest in your products or services, while sales is all about converting that interest into revenue. So, my recommendation would be to prioritize both marketing and sales and ensure that they are working in synergy to achieve your business goals.
Divya
Definitely both at the same time. However, in the initial phases of your business, I think it should be marketing first.

Marketing first because we should always start by creating value. If you have a product that creates value for the customer, then marketing will be much easier for you. Sales comes natural once you have a product that creates value for the customer.

It's often best to tackle marketing and sales together as they complement each other. However, it depends on your business goals and strategy.

This will depends on your product type. I'd say try go for sales but not solely with the goal of generating income but trying to cultivate 1:1 conversations work well for products that just got launched. Helps you to more deeply understand who your ICP is.

@andrea_nguyen_ totally. We are talking to our customers to get more feedbacks, so we can have a better idea about ICP. BTW our product ILLA Cloud 2.0 is going to launch next Monday, 20th March. Please take a look at it hahhaha.

Both go hand in hand!

It's a common mistake made by entrepreneurs that you should start with marketing before sales, but it's not true. Marketing and sales are both are required to make your business profit.

While marketing aims to increase public awareness of a company or brand, sales transforms that viewership into revenue by bringing in actual clients. Cold, warm, and hot leads are attracted by marketing strategies, and full customers are acquired through sales techniques. Therefore according to me, both are equally important and must go hand in hand.
