  • No-Code for Content Authoring Tool?

Hello! My team has a pretty large authoring tool that we use to create all the quests/content in our educational video game. However, as happens with many internal tools, it gets pretty neglected and we now have a 180+ item backlog of requests, from complex to "please make this list categorized/alphabetized." As I've seen more no-code tools, it's occurred to me that our design/content creation tools could potentially do a lot of this on our own and conserve time. However, most of the no-code tools I see for internal tools are more focused on accessing data/editing a DB. Our tool generates a TOML file with code instructions that are loaded into our server to power our content. I've started to look at the different options but digging into dev docs to figure out what is actually possible across so many different tools is super time consuming, so I figured I should just ask some experts! What we need from a no-code tool: - Some way to generate TOMLs from the features/fields.... even if it's custom code we attach to each and my design team is just managing the front-end of this all. - Ability to incorporate custom code into the front-end for some of our features that I am pretty sure are not going to be supported by these tools by default; like generating the data results of what the sim you're designing would look like as you make edits or plotting items onto our game maps. So... anyone have an idea? Or is this just outside the realm of what I can expect right now from these sorts of no-code tools? It would really be fantastic to even get 50% of the front-end burden away from our dev team and onto our design team to have more iterative control. Thanks in advance!
