  • Notion isn’t even profitable

I have seen innumerable projects aimed at Notion, overlooking the fact that they’re not yet profitable, face stiff competition as a challenger, and may implode given the current outlook for many SaaS platforms. Isn’t it a bit risky to commit so much effort into a platform that may evaporate one day?

Notion will be fine. They run a lean ship. And have insane PMF. It will be a trillion dollar company for sure.

Don't forget about countless useless AI products. There are 2 main reasons why some people choose to work on something that doesn't bring them any money, just temporary visits. 1. They go with the "any kind of attention is good attention", hoping to get more credibility for future projects or just bring some eyes to check existing commercial projects. 2. They don't know any better and go with the flow and hype, hoping that there will be people silly enough to choose their product over countless similar and better products out there. Most people just choose to focus on the solution, and not on the problem, that's why their products will never be profitable.

@chris_sarca Totally agree with nr.3. And also validating what problem to solve. I think people go with the first idea that pops into their instead of spending some time to look into more interesting problems to solve for.

🤦 Yes agreed. I didn't realise they weren't even profitable. One interesting thing is that I found that outside of the tech space, many people haven't even heard of Notion.
