  • Product Hunt: Time to bring in more spice?

Have you noticed how the most memorable Product Hunt launches are the ones that let their personality shine? After years on Product Hunt, I've come to realise that the launches I remember are really just the entertaining ones. It's the ones that just feel fun - they're funny, don't take themselves too seriously, and showcase a product without feeling like an 'ad'. However, I feel like Product Hunt launches seem to be increasingly following a monotone - the launch videos / assets, and even the first maker comment, seems to be following a specific template. I'm 100% guilty of this - and have been for various launches 😅 - and I think we should kind of break free from convention a little bit and start bringing our personalities with our launches. Don't you miss the good old days of Product Hunt, where each launch felt like a fun show and tell? Some folks I look up to in this regard: - tl;dv: Check out their launch here - https://www.producthunt.com/products/tl-dv#tl-dv-for-google-meet - Marc Lou: Check out the launch here - https://www.producthunt.com/products/habits-garden#habits-garden. I'm _trying_ to be the change I seek. I made a (mildly) amusing launch video for my launch today. You can check it out here - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/eesel-ai. What do you think about all this? 😄

I enjoyed coming across your video today and was immediately reminded of tl;dv's series of videos. They were memorable for sure. I've been having lots of thoughts about this, and about how SaaS marketing is becoming quite monotonous. Every landing page looks like the same, every video, every post. I don't yet know how to break this pattern in a way that both delivers the message + keeps people interested, but I'm working on it! It's good to see you going for it, and there's something here we can all learn from :)
