Question to ex-PH launcers: How did you measure success in PH, what was your success criterias?

Me and my team planning to show up in Product Hunt soon but i am quite confused about defining a success scenario. Did you set such targets like upvotes or traffic or sales in your launches? If yes, how did you estimated them?

To be honest I don't see a way to estimate with a level of accuracy. Any estimate will be like the numbers in a business plan - wrong, but there's no way to tell by how much or in what direction. So for me (a newsletter), I figure that for the 10 minutes or so it took me to launch on PH, I would like to see a return of at least 25 free subscribers. As it turned out, within two days PH had generated over 100 (and its still going!), and other than a single tweet, no promotion. Not much help I know, but that's my take.

I would focus the most on conversion rate in funnel website visit - sign-up - subscription/sale.
I don't think that upvotes are too helpful in determining your success. It's really about convincing the users and you know that once they buy.
