built a product, now it’s time to get my first client. I - Setting Up a Clear Goal First, I have a clear goal. I want to get my project to $1k MRR, and to achieve this, I only need one client. II - Offering Value I believe that sales is a combination of value and a numbers game. So, I am planning to give as much value as possible and to get in front of as many people as possible. Since my project is B2B, I am willing to trade some of my services for free in return for some attention. I will be offering to design and build a landing page for other founders since this is the most straightforward service, and there are no costs except my time, which I am willing to trade for quality validation. III - Getting in Front of Clients Cold and Warm Outreach For me, the most sensible way to get in front of the right people as an early-stage project is through warm and cold outreach. I choose to do it all manually and collect every email myself. I look for LinkedIn profiles that fit my ideal clients and just reach out and offer them some value with no strings attached. The hardest part of this step is overcoming my fear of rejection. I have set my goal to be rejected 100 times. More Presence on Twitter Every business owner needs a social presence, and for me, I chose Twitter (X) because it’s the platform that fits my voice the most, and other founders love it there already. I will build more in public and engage more with other creators. More Presence on Product Hunt and Indie Hackers I find Product Hunt provides the best engagement, and it’s surprisingly easier to get in front of other creators there and make connections.
