For an early-stage startup, design is secondary. It's more important to find a product-market fit

This is important for the product.

Saw this thread and thought i must reply here. I am launching brandity.ai tomorrow, an AI that takes over your branding process and and acts as a generative stock photo library helping you to convey your message. If you were to support my launch (single-dev) I would be very thankful :) Here is the teaser : https://www.producthunt.com/prod... And here is a short teaser video to get the idea of it : https://youtu.be/xLRCpKhEXQY Would love your feedback! Best, Thilo

As a designer by heart, I want to say 100% important, but my experience says it's not. As much as I love perfecting a design or finetuning our brand, I know it won't matter if there isn't a Product Market Fit. However, I don't believe it is 0% either. Good design doesn't just mean that it looks good, but also that it works well. And good branding can create trust and make people feel more attached to your solution than a competitor. So, as with most things in life, I would say there needs to be a balance 😅

Your brand is the first impression you make on a potential customer. Make it count! Good branding and design builds trust, creates memories, shows that you care and triggers certain emotions.

Branding is super important! Graphite.dev has spent a lot of time on branding for our launch. Also if you guys love an underdog story, please support Graphite today - we spent most of the day in #3 and are currently on track to overtake #1 :)
