Requesting PH support on LinkedIn - Etiquette/tips

As many of you, I receive quite a lot of LinkedIn messages such as "I'm the founder of {productName}, we launch today. Your support would mean a lot!"
I appreciate these messages. Most of the time they are nice and genuine.
However, if you really want someone's support, try to be a bit more personal. Ask for feedback, not for support.
Follow them on PH. Maybe offer a discount code for beta testers.
Other product hunters will upvote you if they LIKE your product, NOT because you ask them.
This is my advice to make the community more genuine, more honest, and more real.
What tips do you propose?

I just give feedback. Might not upvote if it doesn't appeal to me. but there is always some semi useful feedback I can provide. Also if people are promoting garden variety products, my feedback ehh "roasting" might point that out 😅

True! Have been seeing an increasing trend that the top product of the day has reached out on LinkedIn. I think it's just that they are looking for more eyeballs on their product which is fine. I would highly encourage people to follow up after a couple of days to get genuine feedback and build more 1-1 connections.

Be proactive and offer in-kind support. Give support on their launches before asking for support on yours. I presume that is the best proactive way to do it.
Once you've built a little rapport AND determined if they're a good candidate on their beta - explain to them WHY the product might benefit them (specifically them)
