For founders, It's about proper risk management. Successful start founders are actually not blindly take risks but instead good at manage risks.

@serhii_uspenskyi No doubt I am a 3 times founder.
@mave99a yeah, that’s true. What do path will you prefer?)

I'd rather try and fail than not try at all. If I can look back on my life and see I did everything I could, it will be a good life.
@edward_g great! Agree, it’s always worth trying something you wish)
Alex Chepovoi
Obviously, risky co-founder
@alex_chepovoi great:) thanks for sharing thoughs)

Its better to see both the worlds and the see what works best for you. Mine worked in both worlds as I get to spend time with startup(s).
More risk, more reward, def co-founder
@pothamram thanks for reply) are you co-founder yourself?)
Harshit Kr
I'm co-founder with half stake so it's do and die for both
@harshit_kr great! Have u ever tried yourself as an employee?)
Harshit Kr
@serhii_uspenskyi before starting my journey. I had some part time but Full time I never needed to come to an employee role.
@harshit_kr great) thanks for sharing your experience!

One of both, Or both in one - the the steady risk-taker who always plays with house money! Let’s be real, there’s probably an AI platform already in existence that can function as the stable employee in most professions🤔
@glenegrant truly makes sense! How about your way?
@glenegrant true, thanks for sharing your thoughts)

Quite a tricky questions. I guess it all come down to the state of your mental-health as an employee, which comes down to this question: does your job allow you to learn a lot, or earn a lot? If none of these, it's probably time to change. Want to earn more? Find another job as an employee. Want to learn more? Take the entrepreneurial path, as a founder or co-founder. I had a stable and well paid software engineer job for a French startup. But felt unhappy, something was missing. I quit after 6 months and booked a 1-way ticket to Asia to start my journey as an `IndieHacker`, with almost no money aside, few months ago. I'm now in Bali, living in hostels for $5/night, working from places with rice field views and swimming pools, amongst a population of entrepreneurs and digital nomads, I've not much money (yet 😇) but damn, never learn that much: working on my own products and meeting interesting people. Bottom line, follow your gut, and go for what seems to be the best journey for your mind. ✌️

I’d get experience in the field for certain years, then founders journey all the way. Teaches you to enjoy life as well
@prashasti_pankaj wow, cool! And what do you think is better for you?)

Both options have advantages and disadvantages. Stable employment brings safety and dependable money, but perhaps less exhilaration. Dangerous co-founder? The upside could be enormous—financial freedom and a product that changes the world—but it's also stressful and fraught with uncertainty.
@karenwhitewings thanks for sharing your thoughts! What is your preferation?)

It all comes down to personal choice. While the founder journey is exciting and full of ups and downs, it is perfectly alright for someone to do a stable job and live peacefully.
@therahulv of course) what do you prefer?
Rahul
@serhii_uspenskyi right now I’m doing both.
@therahulv oh, interesting) good luck with it!

Try the co-founder journey, if it does not work you still have the stable employee solution.
@mho22 sure) what about your way?
Yannick
@serhii_uspenskyi I'm on the co-founder journey since 2017. What I know is that if the journey ends, I will probably have some hard learned interesting skills to show to employers.
@mho22 wow) cool! Thanks for the insights)

I prefer calculated risk. What about you @serhii_uspenskyi ?
@rahul_choudhary17 I have already had both experiences and I would choose stability)
Oleg Eltsov
Risky solo journey.

"No risks, is No way to live". I'd say taking calculated risks and enjoying life is better, than to be in the safest of places and regret every step of the way. So Co-Founder for me!

Ha ha, I think we all have chosen the risky path already!! 🙌
@shabnam_katoch thanks for the reply) Why do you think so?) E.g. I`m working mostly as an employee with only some % of co-founder path) How about your feelings on your job?
Antonio Sucre
The concept of a “Stable Employee” can be illusory, even in traditional roles, there are inherent risks beyond one’s control. Uncertainties like economic shifts, corporate decisions, changes in job market, etc. can disrupt your stability. Also, there is the risk of becoming too comfortable and complacent hindering your personal growth and adaptability to new challenges. Both options, come with inherent risks. The choice between the two paths depends on personal preferences, goals, and risk tolerance. In my case, after working several years as both an employee and a freelancer, I made the choice to embark on the path of a co-founder.
@antonio_sucre nice story! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, appreicated)

Start as an employee, build a skill, find a problem, and solve it in the wild.
