Startups/ businesses using Notion- what are you biggest pains right now?

Any feature you wish you had? Any activity which you do that has extremely high friction? An integration you wish you had? Would love to know your use cases, and any other application you use for your business that may or may not be integrated into Notion! Shoot them at me!

@lilacwood Thanks! I am trying to fix the template side issues as much as possible with my StartOS templates! Might dabble back into the API again after its done :) Would be cool if Notion solve the Calendar and data loading issues though :)

I hope this brief overview is useful! If you want more specific requests or integrations , let me know.

@lilacwood Love the details! Thank you so much! Oh the GCalendar one is so requested, I want it too, especially the two way sync. Btw the NotionAPI is available and quite decent! I was able to pull data from a GraphQL API, into Notion directly! https://twitter.com/0xajinkya/st... Slack integration is supported and works well- we use (abuse) it. Zapier works btw, although I use bardeen.ai (they should really pay me the amount of times I promoted them lol). For Project Management Visualization/ Collaboration, I built something for us- would love if you could check it out and give feedback! https://www.producthunt.com/prod... Agree the search function is a bit limited and hard to use! I don't use Wikis much, but they did push the feature. Granular permissions are confusing, totally agree. Maybe showing who edited what would help too. 10000% agree with the learning curve- I think that's why templates with tutorials sell. Slowness on large data is a pain for me too!

@ajinkya_bhat You're very welcome! 😊 Thanks for the Calendar and NotionAPI info - two-way sync would be a game-changer. It's great to know Slack and Zapier integration options work well. I'll check out your Project Management Visualization tool and share feedback. Your insights on search, permissions, and the learning curve are spot on. Templates with tutorials indeed make the onboarding process smoother. Slowness with large data is a common hurdle we face. πŸš€πŸ“ˆ

For me, the only problems I've encountered with Notion are from the users not the software! If teams are using it inconsistently or not at all then it can suddenly lose a lot of value since it might not be the "one place" to look for information

@daniel_hunt4 Super insight! I've heard something similar from another start-up too. Is a reason for this that team use multiple tools? Would having integrations that all go back to Notion help?
Daniel Hunt
@ajinkya_bhat I think it's mainly individual people using the tools that they like. When the company is start-up size then it's more like a group of individuals rather than an organized unit in my experience. I don't know if there is a way to force them to use a specific tool but then I haven't really tried that hard to make it happen in the past either 🀷

@daniel_hunt4 Makes sense yeah! Another founder told me she used Notion but her CTO preferred Jira heavily. So I get where you are coming from!
