The importance of freemium at launch

I'm noticing several apps being completely hidden behind pay walls, every day. My experience and guts tell me that it defies the very nature of a launch's purpose on PH. I understand that for certain products like data access being the product itself is inevitable, but in all other cases a pay wall means smaller chances for the product to get reviewed, hence smaller traction at launch. What's your view about it, and what's the approach you have taken or will take with your own launch?

It's a solid way to get users on board and let them test the waters.

Launching soon!
have you thought about no pay walls and no cc required for unlimited access during a limited trial (7,14,30 days)?
It depends on product. For my future products, I plan full usage with limited time. But of course, Freemium is one of the most using method(Google products etc)

The importance of freemium at launch is undeniable. With many apps now hidden behind pay walls, the essence of a launch on Product Hunt (PH) could be compromised.
In my approach, I value accessibility at launch. Offering a freemium model lets users experience the product's value firsthand. This not only attracts initial attention and reviews on PH but also builds a foundation of users who can advocate for the product's merits.
Remember, PH is about showcasing innovation, and a freemium strategy can amplify that impact. 🚀
