Total freedom or micromanagement: How do you prefer 1-1s with your lead?

I prefer 1-1s with my lead that are somewhere in the middle - not too much freedom, but not too much micromanagement either. I like to have some structure to our conversations so that we can cover everything that needs to be covered.

I would say a combination of 2 & 3! It's also nice to use the opportunity as a "pulse check" to see how we're doing mentally and what questions/concerns/feedback each of us have for the other. π Most importantly, I think it's necessary to listen well, and action the points that were brought up!
In my opinion, a combination would be the right way to go!
I like having the opportunity to be guided, coached, and have support from my manager. A 1-1 to talk is an opportunity to connect not only on daily and weekly tasks but also about career development, struggles, concerns, hopes, and wins!
