Twitter won't allow unverified users to DM... What do you think of this?

I know a lot of us are doing outreach marketing on LinkedIn and other platforms but looks like those ends are going to end soon. Twitter is the first one to limit DMs only to verified (blue tick) users. This could happen to other platforms soon. What do you think of this? Is this changing any of your plans?

I appreciate Twitter's effort to combat spam and harassment; however, I worry this change could inadvertently restrict meaningful interactions between unverified users and larger audiences, potentially impeding the dynamic conversation that makes Twitter unique.

@barnes_brian93 Most of the people on Twitter are unverified. They were able to talk to each other. Now they can't
Well twitter's decision has both pros and cons. On the one hand, it could help to curb spam and harassment. On the other hand, it could also hinder authentic interactions among unverified users. As startups, we need to be aware of these changes and adapt our outreach strategies accordingly. We can explore alternatives for communication, such as email or live chat, and leverage this opportunity to provide a safe and engaging environment for our users.

The restriction on Twitter DMs to verified users is a significant shift, and you're right—it might become a trend on other platforms too. However, I believe with the increasing prevalence of online scams ensuring the authenticity of users through verification can enhance the overall trust and security within these platforms.
