Hello everyone, I'm thrilled to share our journey of successfully transforming our service, Contentrain, into a full-fledged sellable product! First and foremost, a huge shoutout to our dedicated team who put their heart and soul into this endeavor. Our mission was to maintain the high quality that our service was known for while scaling it to meet the needs of a larger audience. Throughout this journey, user feedback was our guiding compass. We actively sought input from our early adopters, listened to their needs, and iterated based on their insights. This iterative process not only improved our product but also created a strong bond with our user community. Feel free to ask any questions or share your own experiences – we're here to support each other in this exciting #ProductizingServices journey. Onward and upward! πŸš€πŸŒŸ

Late to the thread, I had it saved for later. So I'm about to launch exactly that. Other than many who seem to do design work, which I think leans itself perfectly to this, I am trying this for IT-Infrastructure consulting. I've been working in IT-Infra for over 20 years now, and 11 as a freelance consultant. What I've learned over the last decade is that companies require bespoke solutions created by experts, but it's all based on replicable concepts and paradigms. So for example if a company needs a design for a cloud deployment for their product they want to run on AWS, Azure or GCP, they need someone who makes sense of the endless options and builds them a sound infrastructure. This is where I come in. Usually, companies hire me for a good 1k per day (I get 80% of that). That sounds great for me, but it's actually terrible for the companies. They often don't know better, so they on-board me, give me a company mail, sometimes even a computer and then I need to attend all their meetings and corporate stuff. I took the time and checked: a good 50-70% of my time is not spent with creating results, but sitting in those meetings, fighting with sub-par IT equipment (they often provide the oldest computers to their externals) and weeks, sometimes months of on-boarding processes. Before they get any results, they pay 20,000 - 40,000 $ - just for one person. So if I cut out the nonsense and introduce hyper-focus, I can deliver results in 48h. Not 4 weeks or more. I'm planning to launch in the next couple of days here, check out the website in the meantime (in my profile)
@arviaja Hey Sebastian, What strikes me most about your journey is how you've managed to identify the inefficiencies in the traditional consulting model and turn it into a streamlined, results-driven approach. Cutting out the non-essentials to deliver high-quality solutions in 48 hours is a game-changer. It indeed reflects a broader trend of turning specialized services into more accessible and efficient products.
