  • Upgrading a personal project to a product?

About a year ago I found myself with a problem and some free time to try and solve it: none of the note taking apps I'd used were really doing it for me. I used this as an excuse to write the exact same side project every other developer starts off with: my own note taking app. I mainly wanted a few key features that I hadn't found all in one app: - Basic rich-text editing with a super simple interface - Inline TODOs with duration tracking - Integration with some kind of diagram editor - End to end Encryption (to store proprietary work stuff on it) - Sync across all my tabs and devices And so I opened up VSCode and started a blank project that has since evolved into a tool I use every day: Dashnote. It has all of these features and more, I genuinely get a lot of value out of it, and I have a blast extending it as new improvements come to mind. Success, mission complete. Now I'm at the point where I'm wondering if it's worth trying to turn it into a real product, given how useful it's been to me. I've showed it to a few friends and family members and have had overall positive feedback, but I have 0 marketing or business experience and don't know where to start (other than the technical pieces). I was hoping I could get some opinions on the project itself, or advice on whether it could be turned into a product (I'm aware the note taking space is super crowded these days).
