What adds energy to your work mood and helps you “get into the flow”?

I noticed that those simple things boost my work mood: 1. View from my window. The sunny, beautiful, colorful view makes me feel energized. 2. Following morning rituals. Just having time before work for myself (drink my favoirity tea, prepare smoothie). Those small things set up the mood for the day. 3. Having a focus time in the morning hours 8 am - 11 am. It helps get things done early in the day and feel motivated by small wins. 4. Having time to recharge and switch attention. Small nap, walk near home, go to the gym. 5. Chatting with positive and energetic team members. Energy can come from other people. Maybe you have felt that after having a call with some people you feel even more enthusiastic than you were before. Have more such people around. 6. Checking all done tasks. Small wins give your brain an extra push of dopamine. You feel proud of yourself and can maintain a good working spirit. What helps you?

Great question. The basics for me is: - A good night of sleep - My morning routine (nothing fancy, just breakfast, coffee and a few minutes to get mind going) - 2 hours of uninterrupted work To add on that, quick feedbacks on what I'm working on keep me motivated (either from the communities I'm in, friends or some testing)

@lisadziuba Yeah, I can get by with one bad night of sleep (usually need a few hours to get a hold of myself) but more than that and I become useless or grumpy as well. :D

@robertomorais super cool that you mentioned good sleep. When I don't sleep well, I feel so annoyed by everything. So the day becomes just useless, as I'm too grumpy)))

Lisa, I'd love to hear your opinion too - you have so many product launches here - impressive)) I was recently promoted to department head, I'm very excited, and in order to be mindful and energize my colleagues, I follow these rules of mine: 1. We start the work day with a short greeting, where we drink coffee together online, smile and cheer each other up. 2. I write out specific tasks, what's important to do, what's secondary. That way I don't throw things around. I try to evaluate my strengths rationally. I don't write out a bunch of tasks that I want to do but can't do in a day. 2. Take breaks, exercise, and don't forget water and food. 3. I ventilate the room or try to work outdoors. 4. I have a playlist for work, music that doesn't distract me, but sets the tone and rhythm for work. 5. I thank and praise myself and my co-workers for every job I do. 6. After the work day, I unplug from all chats and the computer - it's time for myself and my family. As long as my strategy works)

@katerina_kurshina > I ventilate the room or try to work outdoors. this is interesting, I have seen that I get less energetic when it gets hot, or noisy on the street. Should try to add more fresh air as well.

Its very common to get distracted and deviate from the work, to avoid this I have started to meditate and this have resulted wonders so far, your mind starts behaving in the direction which is right for you. I also keep a cup of coffee and my playlist handy to plug in the earphones and sail for the day.

100% my environment. My environment not only effects my mood, but also how easy it is to get "into the flow" and stay in a flow. Since working remotely means changing environments often, I've found that setting up or finding environments that meet my "environment basics" help me feel creative, inspired and concentrated. For me, those basics are dimmed lighting, an uncluttered space and warm/cozy atmosphere.
