What are the abstractions that worth investing in the post-agenic AI coding world?

With AI tools evolving so fast, agentic coding is quickly becoming the norm. Platforms like codium’s Windsurf and replit Agents are already handling repetitive coding tasks, and now AI agents are starting to design, debug, and optimize code all on their own. Cursor seems to be moving in this direction too, and I’m excited to see what they’ll bring to the mix. But let’s be real, no matter how much we tell ourselves “It’s fine,” it’s hard not to notice how AI is commoditizing so many things we used to take pride in as engineers. This raises an important question: What coding abstractions should we prioritize in a world where AI takes on an increasingly central role?
