The biggest fear of a software developer is that his work isn’t appreciated. He spends a lot of time in planning, designing and coding and is never sure that the end product is going to be appreciated. He has a fear of failure and is afraid that he will not be able to meet the expectation of the client. Also, a software developer fears the prospect of being unemployed in a fluctuating economy. Additionally, he fears the prospect of not being able to make ends meet. But despite all these fears, software developers work hard, have good work ethic and creativity.

When software developers start out they are often scared of getting to the point where their business can take off and they can actually start making big money. They are scared that they will leave their jobs, but never be able to make money without a job. Software developers also fear losing their jobs. Of course, whether you are a software developer or not, you all share the same fears of being fired. In the software development world there are fears of failure and then, some fears of success (think of the fable of Icarus). A software engineer is worried that if he shoots for the stars and succeeds, then he will fly too close to the sun and end up crashing down.
